Mind Your Language

Feedback is something this is incredibly important across all sectors; whether it’s user feedback on a particular product or service, b2b feedback on how you work with other organisations, or even giving & receiving feedback within your own company structure.

Did you know that one in four (25%) UK employees don’t feel like they have a voice in their organisation, or that their employer encourages, listens to, and acts on feedback from its staff?

Mind Your Language is a 4-week course designed to provide staff with the tools to implement a good culture of feedback within your organisation - emboldening employees not only to offer feedback in a clear and constructive way, but also seek it in order to improve their own work and processes.

Throughout the 4 weeks we’ll be providing case studies, research from relevant feedback theorists and plenty of engaging exercises all linked to poetry - our bread and butter - that teaches service users some key concepts they can then implement into their day-to-day responsibilities.

Example Exercise:

Writing to your MP

Using the skills we’ve now honed – of listing, collecting ideas and considering the emotional intent of each word or phrase – we’re now going to put them into practise within a slightly more formal setting.

Imagine you need to contact your local MP regarding an issue that’s affecting your day-to-day life. It could be a complaint about potholes, it could be a suggestion of a better bus time-table, it could just be a letter of appreciation of a local initiative you’ve seen have positive effects on your community.

How do your phrase your letter? What words and phrases could you use to best convey your feelings in a positive, constructive manner?
